Made this for the first time at home after years of buying them in the US and Poland – came out great, we filled them with rose hip from our local Polish store and I made a custard filling as well.
My mother’s side of the family is Polish and I grew up in NJ spending more time with my babcia being raised in the Polish culture than with my mom. I am a retired Marine living in Colorado and a home chef making all of the Polish food I grew up with now. I have also done business in Poland for many years. I enjoy your website and videos – we’ll have to visit on my next trip to Poland after pandemia 🙂
Recently had a savory paczki with smoked eel, cabbage filling and an apple/maple glaze as an appetizer. Have you ever heard of this type of filling in Poland? It was delicious. If I make them myself, should I use less sugar in the paczki dough?
