Polish Tuna Salad Sandwich {Chleb z Tuńczykiem}

()

I would consider this modern Polish cooking. Tuna “salad” is more a sandwich topping than a salad, per-say but I think that’s how it’s mainly consumed here in the US, on a sandwich.

I’m a big fish lover. I love to catch fish (I’m not super excited about gutting and cleaning it, but I can do it, if I have to), I like to cook and eat fish. I could eat fish daily, as a matter of fact. Fried fish, fish soup, fish paste, fish salad, jellied fish, paprykarz, you name it. I’m in.

Since canned tuna is easy, no catching, cleaning or gutting required, it makes it an easy lunch choice for me. My tuna salad takes no time to prepare. Pack into a jar and take along for a flavor packed, delicious sandwich. There is absolutely no reason why we should eat mediocre cafeteria food/fast food if we can do THIS. Try it, I dare you. Salad is mildly fishy, and fresh parsley, onion and pickles, along with a splash of pickle juice combine into a delicious medley of perfect.

  1. try miracle whip instead of mayo. and add all kinds of other veggies- fresh peas, chopped carrot, minced garlic, minced celery, chopped cucumber- the sky’s the limit! also other herbs- sweet basil, chives, garlic chives, borage, etc.
